Traditional Thai Bodywork
Traditional Thai Bodywork is a branch of Traditional Thai Medicine and based in the understanding that everything and everyone is composed of elements. Earth, wind, fire, and water. And when those become out of balance, pain and suffering follow.
Thai bodywork aims to restore balance to the elements of the body. Through deep compression, hot herbal compresses, active and passive stretching, cupping/scraping, joint work, and so many other traditional techniques, it is about addressing the areas that are out of balance to relieve tension in the body.
My Approach
Areas of Specialty:
Abdominal massage (for those that experience bloating, IBS, eating disorder recovery support and/or other GI issues)
Deep tissue massage
Hypermobility
Trauma healing
Practically speaking: Thai bodywork is done fully clothed, on a mat on the floor. There is a beautiful dance that happens in a Thai bodywork session. Listening to your body and tailoring each session to every client’s specific needs in the moment. I love working with the body on a deep level. Finding the areas of tension and allowing them to release.
Thai Bodywork & Somatic Experiencing
The intersection between Thai bodywork and trauma healing is beautiful art. The body stores your stories, joy, pain, and patterns. The old is asking to be released. The body speaks, I can help you listen. If you are interested in a combination session, where the focus is on both the bodywork and trauma work, that is also available.
